1. All first year coaches who are coaching U-12 to U-19 must start their training at the Youth U-12 Coaching Course level. Region 37 prefers coaches to coach for 1 year in their current level prior to taking the next level clinic.
2. All coaches must complete Safe Haven Coach Certification and job specific training, to be protected by the Volunteer Protection Act of 1997.
Region 37 Recommended Coach Training Matrix
The following table outlines the recommended coach training schedule based on the division you are coaching. The Basic track is the minimum level of coach training you need to coach in each division. The Better track outlines recommendations for you to develop your skills as a coach, to pass-on greater knowledge to the players. The Best track outlines recommendations for those coaches who are looking to fast-track their development as a coach, to both provide better player development as well as volunteers looking to coach in our more competitive programs.
